Product Grade and Type

The plain particleboards are produced as per IS : 3087 – 1985 while laminated particleboards are produced as per IS : 12823 – 1990;
The plain interior grade (PPI) is technically referred to as FPT – II as per IS : 3087 and plain exterior grade (PPX) is technically referred to as FPT – I, also as per IS : 3087.

The prelaminated particleboards (PLB) conforming to IS : 12823 – 1990 are available in the following type:

  • SLI – Interior grade with one side decorative paper as per order and the other side with balancing white paper lamination;
  • TLI – Interior grade board with both sides having same decorative paper as per customer’s order,
  • SLX – Exterior grade boards having one side decorative paper lamination as per order and the other side having white balancing paper lamination
  • TLX – Exterior grade boards having both sides decorative papers as per customer’s order.

The melamine-faced pre-laminated particleboards as per IS : 12823 – 1990 and amendment No. 2 of June 1994 are available in two grades. Grade – I and Grade – II. Each grades are further classified into four types based on the abrasion resistance as follows:
